Internal consulting training
Challenge
The leadership of the global design and brand identity team wanted to increase their impact within their organisation. The ambition was to help it become more agile and cut external consulting costs by establishing an internal innovation consulting team. Plan was asked to develop and deliver a remote training programme to upskill a cohort of senior designers to internal innovation consultants.
Approach
We began by agreeing on the learning objectives and selection criteria for the first cohort of trainees. Plan then designed the training program and developed the content, including ‘pre-watch’ videos. Kevin McCullagh led the training sessions and provided coaching on group practice projects. Following a debrief, he was asked to develop a reference manual and to provide coaching and advice on how to help maintain the development of the new consultants.
